Keep the promises
you make to yourself.

The gym. The run. The prayer. The book you said you'd read. Dayone turns what you want into a week you actually keep, with a little cloud that locks in when you do.

Whatever you promise yourself.

The gym three times a week. Prayer every evening. Twenty pages before bed. Dayone gives each promise a time, a nudge and a reason to keep going, so it stops being something you'll start next Monday.

scheduleIt happens at a set time

Every promise gets its days, its time and the thing you do right before it.

notificationsYou get reminded, not nagged

A heads-up before, a quick "did you keep it?" after. Never more than three a day.

boltYou see it adding up

Your Day count, your week and your cloud all move the moment you tap Done.

Three taps a day.
That's the whole system.

  1. 1

    Make a promise

Say what you'll do, which days and what time. Tie it to something you already do: after work, I go to the gym. That one line is the difference between a wish and a plan.

  2. 2

    Get the nudge

A heads-up before it starts, and a quiet "did you keep it?" after. Tap Done right in the notification. You don't even have to open the app.

  3. 3

    Tap Done

Two quick sliders: how hard was it to start, how did it go. Your cloud locks in, your score climbs and next week's plan learns from it.

Meet your cloud.

It shows you how you're really doing. Keep your promises and it puts its headband on. Let them slide and it gets a little rainy. It never nags, it just shows you. Drag the score and see.

Built for the day you don't feel like it.

Your whole week, one look.

Every promise, every day, in its own colour. Kept ones get a check, missed ones fade. You see the week you're building, not a wall of numbers, and you can plan ahead as far as ten weeks.

A plan that fixes itself.

Your cloud looks back with you every week: what you kept, what slipped and one change that makes next week easier. Skipped because you were tired? It moves the promise earlier. No time? It makes it shorter. One tap and the plan is updated.

Trophies for showing up.

21 to earn, from your first kept promise to a full year. Some of the best ones aren't about streaks at all.

The day it gets easy

Day 66

Built on how habits actually stick.

In a study from University College London, a new habit took a median of 66 days to feel automatic. So Dayone counts the days you show up, not days in a row. Your Day count only goes up.

  • After this, I do that. Tying a promise to something you already do is one of the best-studied tricks in behaviour science. Dayone asks for it every time you make a promise.
  • It learns from you. Every insight comes from your own check-ins: how hard it was to start, how it went and why you skipped.
  • No guilt. Missed a few days? "Day one again" is a trophy, not a reset.

Questions

I've tried habit apps before and always quit. Why would this one stick?

Most habit apps hand you a checklist and leave the rest to willpower. Dayone plans each promise with a day, a time and something you already do, like "after work, I go to the gym". It nudges you at the right moment, and every week it changes the plan where you slipped. You don't have to become more disciplined. The plan gets easier to keep.

What if I miss a day, or a whole week?

You don't lose anything. Your Day count only goes up, so a bad week can't erase the good ones. Your cloud gets a little rainy, then brightens again with the next promise you keep. Come back after a break and you even earn a trophy for it: Day one again.

I'm busy. Do I really have time for this?

Checking in takes seconds: tap Done in the notification or on the home screen widget. Start with one promise, even five minutes. If you keep skipping because you're out of time, the weekly review suggests a shorter version so it still fits your day.

Will it nag me all day?

No. You get at most three reminders a day, and you choose the kind: a heads-up before, a quick check after, or both. Keep a promise and the rest of that day's reminders for it go quiet.

Can I use it for prayer and faith?

Yes. Pray is one of the starter promises. Set it for the times you pray, every day or on certain days, and tie it to something you already do. It works for anything you want to stay consistent with: prayer, reading scripture, gratitude, fasting.

Is it worth paying for?

The yearly plan works out to €2.50 a month, less than one coffee. If it helps you keep one promise you've been breaking for years, it has paid for itself. And you can try everything free for a week before you pay anything.

What happens to my progress if I get a new phone?

Sign in with Apple or Google and your promises, history and trophies are backed up. Sign in on the new phone and everything is there.

How does the free week work?

You get every feature for 7 days. Cancel before it ends in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions and you pay nothing. Dayone reminds you two days before it ends.

Day one is today.

Make one promise. Keep it tonight.
